The KUHC primarily provides health services to Kenyatta University staff and students.
It is composed of the following sub-units: The Outpatient Clinic, the Sick Bay and Ghana Complex Clinics consisting of Reproductive Health Clinic (Ghana 2), HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing and Treatment Centre (Ghana 4), Consultants Clinics (Ghana 6) and the Dental Unit (Ghana 8). The outpatient clinic is composed of the reception, consulting rooms, the pharmacy, laboratory, and physiotherapy unit.
Sick Bay has a capacity of 18 beds divided into Male wing consisting of 8 beds Male Wing and 10 beds Female Wing. This provides observation and treatment facilities for the more ill patients requiring inpatient care.
The KUHC outpatient clinic and sickbay are open 24 hours, seven days a week.
The Ghana Complex Clinics provide a wide array of auxiliary and specialized health services. The Reproductive Health Clinic (Ghana 2) provides antenatal and postnatal health services to students and staff including breast and cervical cancer screening and contraceptive services. The HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing and Treatment Centre (Ghana 4) conducts HIV testing and initiates treatment and follow-up for HIV infected persons, The Consultants Clinics (Ghana 6) is a specialist referral clinic that operates an appointment schedule for 5 specialist doctors targeting patients with complex conditions in the fields of internal medicine, gynaecology, ear, nose and throat surgery, paediatrics and psychiatry. The Dental Unit (Ghana 8) performs dental and oral health procedures and follow-up.
The KUHC has a fleet of two ambulances used for emergency response and transfers to secondary facilities as per need.
